Gujic highlighted his fist career start at Cushing Field with a career-high six saves in the 2-0 win against Vermont, earning America East Defensive Player of the Week honors, as well.
The keeper was able to keep the visitors off the board, making point-blank saves in each half, including three in a six-minute span in the second stanza. Gujic added to his honors with being named the River Hawk of the Week, as well as earning a spot on the College Soccer News National Team of the week.Â
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition. Â Because of the unique accomplishment the staff chose to give the honor to the entire team.
