Ido Singer joined the UMass Lowell staff as the Director of Basketball Operations in September of 2014. He spent one season as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team at Nichols College before coming to Lowell.
Singer has accumulated over 18 years of basketball experience as a player, scout, assistant and head coach. He played in the Israeli League from 1996-2002, and won the 1996 championship with Maccabi Tel-Aviv. He spent 2001-2003 as a scout in Israel, as well.
At age 23, Singer moved to the United States where he coached the junior varsity team at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School in New York from 2009-2013. He also led the Dwight Middle School to the Big Apple City Championship in 2009.
In June 2011, Singer founded an elite basketball skills development service, with over 100 skills clinics in the New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts areas. The basis of the programs is specialization in cutting edge techniques and approaches to skill development through the improvement of footwork, agility and balance.
Singer was named the MT Elite AAU Program Director and coach. He is currently pursuing a bachelors of science degree in psychology from Capella University in Minnesota. He resides in Framingham with his wife, Jaime and is expecting twin girls in February.
