Personal: Son of Michael and Denise Bortone of Hampstead, N.H. … His mother is a UMass Lowell Alum… He has an older sister… Nicknamed “NickyB” … His hobbies include collecting and customizing shoes, working on cars, music and hiking… Claims to be a ping-pong prodigy … His favorite TV show is The Office…  Lists the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots as his favorite teams and Inky Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Aeneas Williams and Lebron James as his favorite sports figures…  He says his greatest sports moment was winning the NHIAA D1 State Track Championship… He chose UMass Lowell because “it felt like a good fit because of academics and I was still close to home.” … He hopes to get a job that works with shoe design and construction and then start a business with his friends.
