Ben Geier, originally from Bellmore, NY, is a dedicated higher education professional with a strong focus on supporting student-athletes and ensuring their academic success within NCAA guidelines. In September 2024, Ben was elevated to Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Success at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he works closely with baseball, men’s soccer, and women’s field hockey. He leads key initiatives, including career development programming, and provides additional support to the international student population.

Before this, Ben served as the Athletic Academic Coordinator at UMass Lowell from July 2022 to September 2024, where he provided crucial support to various athletic programs. Under Ben’s leadership, the teams achieved significant academic milestones, such as the baseball team reaching its highest GPA in program history (3.424) in Fall 2024 and men’s soccer achieving its highest GPA since transitioning to Division I (3.471) in Spring 2024. These milestones reflect his commitment to balancing academic excellence with athletic performance while fostering a culture of success.

Earlier in his career, Ben worked at Stony Brook Athletics from August 2020 to May 2022, providing academic support to teams such as men’s lacrosse, softball, women’s swim & dive, and women’s volleyball. He developed personalized academic plans for at-risk student-athletes, ensuring they stayed on track to meet their academic goals, and oversaw the freshman cohort for his designated teams.

Ben holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration (MA) from Stony Brook University, which he received in May 2022. He was an active participant in the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society, the Higher Education Administration Association (HEAA), and the Men’s Club Volleyball team. His capstone project, "Bridging the Gap for First-Generation Student-Athletes," reflects his commitment to supporting unique student groups. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Communications (BA) from the University of Central Florida in December 2018, where he was involved in the Sports Business Club and Men’s Club Volleyball.

Outside of his professional and academic responsibilities, Ben remains actively engaged in extracurricular activities and professional development initiatives, always striving to enhance the student-athlete experience and cultivate leadership skills. With a solid foundation in higher education and student-athlete support, Ben is passionate about creating environments where student-athletes can thrive both academically and athletically.
