Biography

2018-19 Season: Goransson is one of eight River Hawks to skate in all 34 games in his junior campaign, registering 18 points (4g,14a) with a +7 rating and 64 shots on goal. His 18 points ranks sixth on the River Hawks' roster (1st among dmen) and is tied for ninth among Hockey East defensemen. His 53 blocked shots rank seventh among conference players. He amassed 11 points (3g,8a) and a +5 rating in 24 league games. Goransson has totaled points in 14 games this season, which includes three multi-point efforts. Had a career-high three assists at Northeastern on February 1st. He has posted a plus or even rating in 25 of 34 games for UMass Lowell. The River Hawks own a 6-3-2 record when Goransson tallies an assist.

2017-18 Season: Göransson tallied 13 points (4g,9a) in 33 games for the River Hawks in his sophomore year. He totaled nine points (1g,8a) in 22 Hockey East tilts. Registered a point in 11 games with UMass Lowell owning a 8-3-0 record in those contests. Had two multiple-point efforts to his credit. Göransson had a plus or even rating in 19 of 33 games for the River Hawks.

2016-17 Season: Göransson recorded 23 points (5g,18a) with a +12 plus/minus rating in 39 games in his freshman season. His 23 points ranked tied for ninth among Hockey East defensemen and Hockey East rookies, and was also tied for first among HEA rookie blueliners. His 23 points are the most in program history for a Div. I freshman defenseman since Ed Campbell’s (1993-94) 24 points, which is the program record. His 18 assists ranked first among first-year HEA blueliners. Recorded two points (1g,1a) in his first career game and recorded seven points (3g,4a) in his first six collegiate games. Posted a point in 16 contests and has totaled six multi-point efforts. Recorded a career-high three points (1g,2a) on Feb. 4 vs. UNH. Had a plus or even rating in 31 of 39 games this season for UMass Lowell. The River Hawks owned an 13-2-1 record when he scores a point. Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week on January 2nd for his five-point  (1g,4a) weekend against NU and UNH.

Previous Team: Göransson played the last two seasons for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL under Head Coach Bill Muckalt. He won a Clark Cup Championship with the Storm and served as Assistant Captain this past season and was named to the All-USHL Second-Team, recording 41 points (7g,34a) in 58 regular-season games. His 34 assists and 41 points set a new single-season total for a defenseman in team history.  In the 2015-16 playoffs, he tallied five assists and a +12 rating in 11 games. In 2014-15 with the Storm, he tallied 28 points (7g,21a) in 57 contests.
