Macdonald joined the UMass Lowell Athletic Healthcare staff in 2017 as an Intern Athletic Trainer. He was promoted to a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2019 before being named Associate Athletic Trainer in 2024. Macdonald primarily serves as the certified Athletic Trainer for Men’s Hockey. From 2017 until 2020 Macdonald served as the Athletic Trainer for the Cross Country, Track & Field Teams.
Prior to arriving in Lowell, Macdonald worked as an Athletic Trainer and Exercise Specialist at Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine.
Macdonald graduated in 2015 from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. On the field, Macdonald played for the Pioneers’ lacrosse team, captaining the squad in his senior year. He completed his Masters Degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018.
Macdonald Currently resides in North Andover, MA with his wife Nicole and dog Katie.
