MacDonald is in his third year working with the UMass Lowell cross country and track & field teams. He joined the UMass Lowell athletic healthcare staff as an intern athletic trainer in 2017 before being promoted to a full-time assistant athletic trainer in 2019. He previously worked with the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse as a home game athletic trainer, and with Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine as a trainer and exercise specialist.

Currently residing in Manchester, N.H. MacDonald recently completed his master’s of science in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University.

MacDonald graduated in 2015 from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, working clinical rotations with the wrestling and men’s soccer teams. On the field, MacDonald played for the Pioneers’ lacrosse team all four years, captaining the squad in his senior year.Â
