Ken Hughes enters his first season as Head Coach of the River Hawk men's golf team in 2015-16, after serving 12 years (2003-14) as Head Coach at Dracut High School.
A 1971 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Hughes was a member of the Minutemen football team, where he played quarterback. After his time at school, he developed his golf game and went on to win the Lowell City Golf Tournament in 1988.
During his time at Dracut High School, Hughes developed numerous teams that competed at a high level in a very competitive Merrimack Valley Conference. He also spent his teaching career as a history teacher and the history department chair at Dracut High School. Hughes also coached football, basketball and baseball during his tenure.

Hughes earned his Level I golf certification from the Titleist Performance Institute in 2014.
A native of Denville, N.J., Hughes lives in Lowell with his wife Mary-Ann, where they have raised three grown children (Jessica, Caroline and Laura). He has been a member at the Vesper-Country Club since 1973 and the Long Meadow Golf Club since 2008.
