THE MASSEY FILE: Imposing post player who occupies a good deal of space and is capable of big minutes • Thrives on the intangibles: defense, rebounding and shot blocking • Will press for more minutes in 2013-14.
AS A JUNIOR: Played in 26 games with one start • Averaged 1.3 ppg and 1.8 rpg • Northeast-10 Conference Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 Commissioner’s Honor Roll • Season-highs include eight points in a 100-73 win over Merrimack; seven rebounds in a 91-90 win over District of Columbia; and four blocked shots in the win over UDC and a 98-94 win over Southern Connecticut.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Saw action in 14 games after transferring mid-semester from Sacred Heart • Averaged 1.2 ppg and 1.9 rpg • Season-highs include five points in an 86-68 win over Southern Connecticut; and eight rebounds in a 69-65 victory at Franklin Pierce in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament semifinal and in the NE-10 Tournament final loss at Stonehill (73-61).
BOSTON ENGLISH H.S.: Four-year player at Boston English H.S. for coach Barry Robinson • Boston City North League all-star as a senior • Team Most Valuable Player as a senior • Helped lead Boston English to the MIAA state tournament for the first time in five years • Boston City League all-star game • Boston City League slam dunk champion • Also played football, track and soccer at different periods in high school • Recipient of the Abigail Adams Scholarship for high performance on the MCAS exam • Also played in the YABC club system for coach Pete Washington.
