Biography

(1994) - A two-time honorable mention All-American, Neal Larsson was elected into the Athletic Hall of Fame in his initial year of eligibility. Neal was a four-year letterwinner for coach Jim Stone at first base. A co-captain of the team his senior year (1989), Larsson hit .376 with 7 home runs and 38 RBIs and was named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) All-Star first team, New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star first team, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II North All-Star squad, and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) District I All-Star first team. He was voted as the team[apos]s Most Valuable Player and played in the NEIBA All-Star game at Fenway Park.

During his junior season (1988), the team won a school record 31 games and was selected for the NCAA Regional Tournament. Larsson batted .380 with six home runs and 54 RBIs to earn NECC All-Star first team, NEIBA All-Star first team, ABCA District I All-Star first team, and honorable mention All-American honors.

Larsson was named the team[apos]s Rookie of the Year in 1986 after batting .314 with a team leading 5 home runs and 23 RBIs. He hit .341 with 5 round trippers and 35 RBIs as a sophomore to help the team to an NCAA tournament berth. He finished his career with 149 runs scored, 188 hits, 23 home runs, and 150 runs batted in.
