Biography

AS A SENIOR: Saw action in all 18 games • Added eight goals and one assist for nine points on the season • Notched three goals and one assist in a 6-1 victory over Vermont.

AS A JUNIOR: Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team • Started all 23 matches for the River Hawks • Scored 14 goals and added 11 assists for 39 points •  NE-10 Player of the Week Oct. 2 • Season-high include three goals and two assists in a 6-4 win over Southern Conn. St (9/22) and had three goals in a 6-0 victory over St. Anselm (9/26). 

AS A SOPHOMORE: Saw action in 20 matches with 17 starts • Scored 13 goals and five assists for 31 points on the season • Scored three goals in a 4-3 win over Millersville (9/4) • Scored twice in the second half of the NE-10 Championship to defeat Merrimack College, 3-2 (10/31) •  Named NE-10 Player of the Week on September 7.

AS A FRESHMAN: Played in 17 of the River Hawks 24 games on the year • Scored first collegiate goal in first appearance on Sept. 3 in a 6-0 win over Mansfield.

RANCHO BUENA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL: Played three years of varsity field hockey at Rancho Buena Vista High School • Recipient of the US Army Scholar Athlete Medal Award and US Marine Corps Standout Athlete Award • Three-time member of the San Diego Union-Tribune's All-Academic Team • Recipient of team's MVP and Offensive player of the Year • Selected for First-Team Palomar League and First-Team Division 1 Field Hockey multiple years • Won two consecutive Palomar League Championships as a junior and senior • Selected as a San Diego County High School Sports Association Division 1 Field Hockey All-Star and as a senior was the second leading scorer out of all competing players in San Diego.

PERSONAL: One of two children of Steve and Tara Effertz of Oceanside, Calif. • Lists the San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Penguins and San Diego Chargers as her favorite sports teams • Majoring in business administration.
