UMass Lowell Athletics

Melyssa Woods joined UMass Lowell in the fall of 2018 after stints with America East members, University of Vermont and University of New Hampshire.  She came to the academic side of the house after 3 years coaching field hockey at UVM.  She completed her Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Educational Leadership while at UVM.  Her thesis was titled The Role of Vulnerability in Athletics: applications for Future Female Leaders in Combating Feelings of Shame and Weakness.
 
Originally from upstate New York, Woods had a decorated field hockey career at UNH where she was a team captain while majoring in Psychology with a minor in Youth & Adolescent Development.
