Biography

AS A GRADUATE STUDENT (2024-25): Appeared in all 36 games for the River Hawks in his fifth-year campaign, recording three goals with tie for the team lead with 14 assists for 17 points to lead all defensemen ... Scored one game-winning goal … Blocked 27 total shots to rank second on the team ... Picked up his first point of the year with two assists against Minnesota Duluth (10/11) ... Scored his first goal of the year the next night against Minnesota Duluth (10/12) … One-time Hockey East Defender of the Week (10/24) ... Named the Gus Coutu Award winner at the team’s annual awards banquet, given to the player that best exemplifies the spirit of the River Hawk hockey program.

AS A SENIOR (2023-24): Named a captain prior to the 2023-24 season ... Played in 25 games for the River Hawks, missing nearly two months due to injury ... totaled one goal and 11 assists for 12 points, adding 29 blocks ... ranked second on the team in assists ... appeared in his 100th career game on February 2 against Boston College ... Earned a two-point game with his two assists against Omaha at the Desert Hockey Classic (01/05).    

AS A JUNIOR (2022-23):
Appeared in a career-high 34 games for the River Hawks ... Scored four goals with a career-high in both assists (13) and points (17) ... ranked third on the team on the team in assists and tied for fourth in points ... Tallied two power play goals ... Had two multi-point games (11/26 vs. Dartmouth & 12/09 vs. Dartmouth) ... Named Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week (Week of 03/13)    

AS A SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Saw action in all but two games for the River Hawks as a sophomore … Registered single-season highs in all three scoring categories with five goals and nine for 14 points … Led all River Hawk blueliners in goals with five … Finished the year with two power play goals and three game-winning goals … Amassed a +6 rating in his 33 appearances … Put up a season-best two points on three occasions (11/12 vs. Northeastern); 11/13 vs. BC; 12/3 vs UMass) … Blocked 23 total shots … Scored his first collegiate goal against Boston University (10/30) … Named the Hockey East Defender of the Week (Week of 11/15).

AS A FRESHMAN (2020-21): Skated in 17 games in his rookie season, registering eight assists for eight points…Led all River Hawk freshmen in points…Recorded a season-high three assists against Maine (1/3)…Finished the year with eight blocked shots…Registered his first collegiate point on the road, dishing out a helper on the game-winning goal during the River Hawks 2-1 victory over UConn (12/21).

Before UMass Lowell: Meehan, son of former River Hawk Scott Meehan, comes to Lowell after spending time with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) … scored eight goals and added 10 assists for 18 points in 25 games played … awarded USHL Defensemen of the Week after a four-point performance against Omaha (Oct. 22) … skated in six games with Team USA, helping them secure the bronze medal at the World Junior A Challenge … prior to entering junior hockey, Meehan spent three seasons at the Dexter Southfield School, posting a 11-34-45 total in 76 games.
