
River Hawks Run Hard and Fast at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's cross country team recorded some stellar performances on Saturday afternoon at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
In the women's gold 6k, junior Georgia Brooks (Groton, Mass.) led the squad with a 12th-place performance out of 241 runners and a 21:57.45 mark, just before freshman Rosie Bradley (Harvard, Mass.) claimed 13th with a time of 21:59.32. Next was graduate student Kylie Marion (Baldwinville, Mass.) in 17th place, finishing with a personal-best time of 22:09.91, just before sophomore Anna Fondakowski came in with a 22:11.72 mark for 19th place.
Freshman Paige McInerney represented the River Hawks with a 37th-place finish, earning a time of 22:39.06, while junior Lauren Long (Lunenburg, Mass.) claimed 44th with a time of 22:45.42. Junior Selena Wood (Abington, Mass.) (69th, 23:20.13), junior Salma Boukhtam (Quincy, Mass.) (83rd, 23:37.42) and graduate student Raihana Yameogo (Dillsburg, Pa.) (111th, 24:36.08) also competed for the River Hawks.
In the navy 6k race, sophomore Addyson Hunt (Wilmington, Mass.) excelled and led the way for the team, finishing second in a race of 180 finishers with a personal-best time of 23:05.07. senior Lena Takahashi (Holden, Mass.) and freshman Lilah Hall (Durham, Maine) were next, claiming 20th and 25th place, respectively, as Takahashi finished in 24:16.94 and Hall in 24:27.69. Rounding out the River Hawks were junior Brianna Phelan (Billerica, Mass.) and sophomore Grace Brackett (Wakefield, Mass.), finishing in 41st and 51st place, respectively. Phelan finished with a time of 24:56.10, while Brackett earned a 25:09.44 mark.Â
Now the team will look forward to the Paul Short Run next Friday, October 2 at Lehigh.       Â
