
River Hawks Announce Complete 2026-27 Schedule

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Men's Basketball Head Coach Pat Duquette unveiled his squad's complete 2026-27 competition schedule on Tuesday, as the team prepares for a challenging slate that tips off at home on Monday, November 2 against Rivier.

The non-conference schedule features two, in-season tournaments and opponents from nine different Division I conferences, providing a mix of regional rivalries and top-tier competition to help the River Hawks prepare for America East action.

After opening night, the team takes part in the first ever America East - Metro Challenge with a visit to local foe Merrimack (Nov. 5) and its home opener against Marist (Nov. 8). Following a short trip to Massachusetts (Nov. 11) and a home contest against St. Peter's (Nov. 17), the River Hawks embark on a program-record-tying, seven-game road swing. The span kicks off against Big 12 opponent Cincinnati (Nov. 22) before three games at the Capital Thanksgiving Classic hosted by American from Nov. 27-29. The 18-days on the road is capped off by matchups at Georgetown (Dec. 2), Boston College (Dec. 5) and Sacred Heart (Dec. 9).

"We are excited to once again play an extremely competitive non-conference schedule that features games against Boston College, Georgetown, Cincinnati and UMass," said Duquette. "Our team will be challenged and prepared by the time conference play starts."

UMass Lowell closes out the month of December and non-conference action at home against Stonehill (Dec. 12), Fisher (Dec. 16), Boston University (Dec. 20) and Emerson (Dec. 29).

America East play begins on January 2 when the River Hawks welcome New Hampshire to the Tsongas Center. The conference schedule once again features a home-and-home format against each league opponent, as UMass Lowell will also host Bryant (Jan. 9), Binghamton (Jan. 14) and UAlbany (Jan. 28) in January.

The River Hawks open the month of February at home against Maine on Feb. 4. NJIT (Feb. 18) and UMBC (Feb. 20) also come to Lowell before the squad wraps up its regular-season home slate against Vermont on Feb. 27 at the Tsongas Center.

The regular season concludes on March 2 at UAlbany. The top eight teams in the standings will qualify for the 2026-27 America East Playoffs, which are set to begin with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, March 6. The semifinals will follow on Tuesday, March 9 to determine the championship matchup on Saturday, March 13. All rounds will be played at the higher seed.
