River Hawks Announce 2026 Schedule

7/2/2026 10:39:00 AM

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Women's Soccer Head Coach Mira Novak has revealed his 2026 schedule. The River Hawks launch the 2026 campaign on Wednesday, August 12, traveling to Providence for the season opener.

"I am excited we have been able to set up a challenging schedule against some top local teams," said Novak. "I'm thrilled to challenge the team during the non-conference slate with the intention of helping prepare the team for the conference schedule. Similarly to last year, I fully expect the conference games to be tight due to many of the contests last year being decided by a single goal difference. The team that can deal with this pressure the best can win the league, and I certainly hope we are in the hunt come November."

UMass Lowell continues its schedule with the team's home opener at Cushing Field against Fairfield (Aug. 16), before embarking on another road test at the defending Ivy League champions, Dartmouth (Aug. 20). The River Hawks wrap up August with a home match against Merrimack (Aug. 23) and then head south for a clash against Charleston (Aug. 30).

The River Hawks' longest road stretch of the season continues into September, as the team returns to New England, going head-to-head against in-state rival Massachusetts (Sept. 6) before taking on Stonehill (Sept. 10). The team then concludes non-conference play by welcoming New Haven on September 13. America East competition kicks off with a two-game road swing for the River Hawks, facing Binghamton on September 20 before traveling to the reigning America East champions, Maine, on September 27.

Starting the month of October, UMass Lowell heads home to take on Vermont (Oct. 1) at Cushing Field, before heading back to New York to square off against UAlbany (Oct. 11). The River Hawks remain at home for consecutive conference contests, welcoming UMBC on October 18 and New Hampshire on October 22. The River Hawks then close out the regular season with a trip to NJIT on October 25, followed by the home finale against Bryant on November 1.

The America East playoffs begin a few days later with quarterfinal action on November 5. The semifinals follow on Nov. 8, with the conference champion to be determined the following weekend. All playoff games will be held at the higher seed's home field and will be streamed on ESPN+.
