LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Athletics has named Adrian Torok-Orban as head coach of the men's lacrosse program, as announced by Director of Athletics Lynn Coutts on Wednesday.

Torok-Orban becomes the third head coach of the River Hawks since the program's reinstatement in 2015. He has spent the last three seasons as the associate head coach for the Fairfield men's lacrosse program, helping the Stags become a Division I top five scoring offense during the 2025 season.

"Adrian brings the energy, experience and vision we were looking for to lead our men's lacrosse program," said Coutts. "He has been part of winning programs, has helped develop nationally competitive offenses, and understands what it takes to recruit and mentor student-athletes at the Division I level. We are excited for the future of River Hawk men's lacrosse under his leadership."

At Fairfield, Torok-Orban served as both the offensive and recruiting coordinator, while also coaching the goalies during the 2025 season. During his three seasons there, the Stags posted a 24-20 overall record, including a 12-3 record in 2025, earning a consistent spot in national rankings and reaching as high as No. 12 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. Off the field, he also oversaw academic support and management, leading to a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Academic Excellence Award in 2024 and 2025 and a cumulative team GPA of 3.57 during the 2026 spring season. He also acted as a liaison to the compliance team, managed the program's budget and facilitated team travel logistics.

"I would like to thank Director of Athletics Lynn Coutts and the entire search committee for this incredible opportunity," Torok-Orban said. "From my time on campus, it was apparent that this is an athletic department that cares deeply about its student-athletes and the surrounding community and is committed to fostering a championship level experience both on the field and in the classroom. I am excited to get to work with the great young men within the program and continue building upon the strong foundation that has already been laid."

Before Fairfield, Torok-Orban was the associate head coach for the Robert Morris University men's lacrosse program from 2021-23. While there, he helped the Colonials win the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in 2022. In addition to many of the same responsibilities he would go on to handle at Fairfield, Torok-Orban also oversaw RMU's team alumni relations and sat on various athletic department committees.

Torok-Orban's coaching career started at Robert Morris, serving as the director of operations for the 2019 season, when the team won the Northeast Conference Championship. Between his two stints with the Colonials, he served as a graduate assistant coach at Mercer University, where he focused on player and character development through film review, individual skill sessions and goal-setting meetings.

Torok-Orban was a four-year starter for Robert Morris as a student-athlete. During his time as a player, he won a conference championship in 2018 before graduating with a spot in the top 10 on the program's all-time record lists for goals scored, games played and games started. He also earned a spot on Team Ontario and won a Canadian National Field Lacrosse Championship.

Torok-Orban earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in management from Robert Morris in 2018. He went on to receive a master's degrees in education and business administration in 2020 and 2021, respectively, from Mercer.
