LOWELL, Mass. – The 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams have been released, with three UMass Lowell baseball players receiving recognition.

Representing the River Hawks on the CSC Academic All-District Team are graduate student Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.), senior Joseph DeLanzo (Nutley, N.J.) and junior Alfred Mucciarone (Franklin, Mass.).

The Division I Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, honor the nation's top student-athletes for their achievements and performances both on the field and in the classroom.

DeMaro obtained his postgraduate degree in engineering management from the Francis College of Engineering. After transferring from SNHU, the graduate student provided valuable depth to the River Hawks' bullpen, appearing in 19 games with three starts and logging 37.2 innings during the 2026 season. DeMaro finished the season with a 6.21 earned run average, adding a win, a save and 27 strikeouts. Following the regular season, DeMaro earned a place on the America East All-Academic Team in recognition of his success both academically and athletically. The Newburgh native is also a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection, having received the honor in 2024 and 2025 while competing at SNHU.

DeLanzo received his undergraduate degree in health studies and psychology from the College of Fine Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. Following a season-ending injury in his first year with the River Hawks after transferring from Stony Brook, the senior captain bounced back to appear in a team-high 52 games. At the plate, DeLanzo tallied a .277 batting average with 52 hits, nine doubles and a home run to go along with 28 RBI and 19 runs scored. In the field, he recorded 44 putouts and 83 assists while compiling a .962 fielding percentage.

Mucciarone is majoring in business administration from the Manning School of Business. The right-hander logged a team-best 76.2 innings and posted a 4.46 earned run average on the season. Serving as the River Hawks' top starter, Mucciarone made 14 appearances on the mound, recording three wins, two complete games and 47 strikeouts. The junior's performance throughout the season earned him recognition on the America East All-Conference Second Team and the All-Academic Team, while his postseason efforts secured a spot on the America East All-Championship Team.
