PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Two UMass Lowell men's track and field runners traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Penn Relays, surrounded by stiff competition on Thursday evening.

Ethan Mashtare (St. Albans, Vt.) got the night started in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing 33rd out of 35 runners with a 9:11.65 mark, before freshman
Will Conklin (Danvers, Mass.) smashed his personal record in the 5,000m run by earning a time of 14:39.32 for 52nd place out of 60 runners.
Tomorrow, the majority of the team will compete at the Wildcat Invitational at New Hampshire, while a sprint medley team will return to race at the Penn Relays.
