Game 1: UMass Lowell 7, Stonehill 2
Stonehill opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, but the River Hawks answered with two runs in the second to take the lead for good. Rowley doubled to put two in scoring position before Fitzgerald lined an RBI single down the left field line to even the score. Calkins then reached on a fielder's choice to bring Rowley home and make it 2-1.
Lowell added two more in the third. After sophomore Avery Spinello-Branch (Lorton, Va.) moved up to third, Santiago singled to left field to plate a run. Later in the frame, Rowley reached on a fielder's choice to score Santiago and stretch the advantage to 4-1.
The River Hawks created even more separation with a three-run fifth inning. Rowley singled through the left side to score Santiago, Fitzgerald followed with an RBI single up the middle, and Rowley later stole home to extend the lead to 7-1. Stonehill got one back on a solo home run in the sixth, but DeCitise closed out the complete-game victory from there.
