LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's track and field team split up on Saturday, competing at both Southern New Hampshire and Tufts.

"Overall, the team had a good day," said Head Coach Gary Gardner. "We are happy with the consistency all the groups are showing this time of year. That will help us in championship meets."

At SNHU, the 4x100m team of sophomore Iyanuoluwapo Omisore (Lagos, Nigeria), junior Evan Imasogie (Lowell, Mass.), junior Daniel Kennedy (Tolland, Conn.) and sophomore Michael Gyimah (Kumasi, Ghana) kicked it off with a win, earning a 41.41 mark.

Next, junior Seyha Rath (Lowell, Mass.) represented the River Hawks in the 3,000m steeplechase, claiming third out of 14 people with a time of 10:13.46. The 100m dash prelim followed, and senior Tristan O'Riorden was the lone qualifier for finals with a tie for seventh place and 10.98 mark. He did not participate in finals.

Omisore continued to shine in the 200m dash, winning with a time of 21.64, before junior Anthony Massari (Dumont, N.J.) claimed third out of 56 with a 22.02 mark. Two other River Hawks finished in the top 10, as sophomore Dmitrius Shearrion (Taunton, Mass.) earned eighth with a time of 22.14, before O'Riorden finished just behind him in ninth place with a 22.17 mark. Senior Brett Earle (Baldwinville, Mass.) claimed 12^th with a 22.42 mark, while senior Alejandro Lynch (Somerville, Mass.) finished in 14^th with a 22.47 mark, right before Imasogie crossed the finish line in 16^th place with a time of 22.50. Freshman Raymond Dafe (Lowell, Mass.) closed out the River Hawks with a 30^th-place performance and 23.22 mark.

In the field events, Rere Edokpolo (Manchester, N.H.) led the long jump with a 6.50m mark, while junior Kuzey Kaya (Winchester, Mass.) claimed 10^th with a 6.29m mark and Earle finished 14^th with a 6.06m leap. Sophomore Jack Shepherd finished second to lead the triple jump, reaching 13.93m as the lone River Hawk in the event.

Sophomore Camren Allain (Carver, Mass.) won the high jump, clearing 1.98m, while Edokpolo finished in 10^th with a 1.83m mark. Freshman Jake Tucker led the way in the javelin, finishing in fifth place with a 51.12m mark, with Allain also competing and claiming 11^th place with a 46.59m mark.

In the shot put, freshmen Kenneth Kalvinek (Sutton, Mass.) and Reznor Rokicki (Loveland, Ohio) impressed with second and third-place finishes, respectively, with 14.94m and 14.89m mark. Graduate student Ian Camerato (Mount Laurel, N.J.) was next in fifth place with a 14.70m toss, before senior Mukanya Kazadi (Woburn, Mass.) finished in seventh with a mark of 14.44m.

Rokicki went on to win the discus throw with a 48.96m mark, before Kalvinek claimed fourth with a 46.46m throw. Freshman Kevin Vigneault (Jamesville, N.Y.) also competed and finished in 14^th place with a 38.57m mark. Vigneault then represented the River Hawks in the hammer throw, claiming fifth out of 15 with a 52.10m mark.

At Tufts, senior Derek Munroe (Tewksbury, Mass.) highlighted the day with a school record in the decathlon, earning 6,935 points. Junior Brandon Riley (Weymouth, Mass.) finished in third with 6,566 points and freshman John Kivlan claimed eighth place with 5,473 points.

"Today was a real test of grit for the multis," said Associate Head Coach Ally Waruch. "The wind was relentless all day and the day got pretty long. We really had to lock in and refocus a few times to stay positive and aggressive. It was a great test to see where we are and get some things cleaned up for conference."
