BOSTON – UMass Lowell softball junior Olivia DeCitise (Troy, N.Y.) has been named America East Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after a dominant weekend in the circle at the Towson Tiger Invite.
With the honor, DeCitise becomes the only pitcher in the conference to earn the award twice so far this season.
DeCitise led the River Hawks to a 4-1 week, going 3-0 with a 0.47 ERA across 15.0 innings. She allowed just five hits and one earned run while striking out 21 batters and holding opponents to a .098 batting average.
She opened the weekend by matching her career high with 13 strikeouts in a win against Central Connecticut State, then reached another milestone in the tournament finale against Coppin State, recording her 200th career strikeout. DeCitise helped anchor a River Hawk pitching staff that combined for a 0.21 ERA and three shutouts across five games, while limiting opponents to a .113 batting average.
