BOSTON, Mass. – Three members of the UMass Lowell men's basketball team have earned 2026 America East All-Conference honors, as announced by the league office on Friday.

Junior Angel Montas Jr. (La Romana, D.R.) was named to the All-Conference First Team, while senior Austin Green (Sicklerville, N.J.) and junior Xavier Spencer (Calgary, Alberta) were both selected to the Third Team.

"I'm extremely proud of this year's team and our three very deserving winners," said Head Coach Pat Duquette. "They were coachable, great teammates and fun to work with. This team battled all year and got so much better as the year went on. I'm glad Angel, Xavier and Austin were recognized for both their individual achievements and our overall team success."

Montas Jr. has posted career highs across the board in his first season at UMass Lowell. Through 28 appearances, the guard is averaging a team- and personal-best 15.2 points per game. He ranks second on the team with 5.2 rebounds per game, and totals 49 assists and 25 steals, as well. Montas Jr. also shattered his personal best for scoring in a single game after dropping 33 points on 70% shooting from the field in a win at Maine in the regular season finale. With 10, 20+ point scoring games, including three, 30-point games since becoming a full-time starter in early December, Montas Jr. has gone on to average 20.0 points per game in America East Conference play. His efforts garnered three America East Player of the Week nods during the regular-season and his All-Conference selection marks the fourth straight season that a River Hawk has been named to the First Team.

Green has started in 24 of the 25 games he has played in during his debut year in Lowell, averaging 13.8 points per game on a team-high 58.9% shooting from the field. He also leads the team and ranks second in the conference with 8.0 rebounds per game, while adding 29 assists and 13 blocks. Green, who also leads the team with seven double-doubles, is ranked first in the conference and 24th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game. A season-defining game came against Sacred Heart on Dec. 16, when he tallied 22 points and 14 rebounds, shooting 69.2% from the field in a dramatic win against the Pioneers. In his final three games of the regular season, Green totaled 39 rebounds, with 27 of them coming on the defensive side, along with 14.3 points per game during that same stretch.

Spencer has posted 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in his inaugural year as a River Hawk. He also leads the team and is tied for seventh in the conference with 1.2 steals per game. Spencer has been the driving force behind the River Hawks' offense this season, as he has started every game and has played a team-high 33.6 minutes per game. Spencer dropped a season-best 23 points against the UAlbany Great Danes to open conference play in January, adding five assists and six rebounds to go along with that win. The junior has recorded two double-doubles this season, including 15 points and 10 rebounds at New Hampshire on Jan. 29.

The No. 4 seeded River Hawks will host the No. 5 UAlbany Great Danes this Saturday, March 7 at the Kennedy Family Athletic Complex in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Air Force Reserve America East Playoffs with tipoff set for 1 p.m.
