BOSTON, Mass. – Following a dominant performance on the mound in last week's conference action, junior Alfred Mucciarone (Franklin, Mass.) was named the America East Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. 

Mucciarone was lights-out last Friday against Maine, powering the River Hawks to a 10–1 victory. The right-hander threw a complete game, tossing nine innings with seven strikeouts, four hits allowed, no walks, and no earned runs (one unearned), earning his first America East weekly honor of the season. The Franklin native retired the first eight batters he faced and later set down 13 straight from the fifth through the ninth. 

So far in the season, Mucciarone has thrown a team-high 38.2 innings in six starts on the bump, posting a 3.26 earned run average and a 1.22 WHIP. The junior owns a 1-1 overall record, while also registering 30 strikeouts.
