LOWELL, Mass. – Senior
Alejandro Lynch (Somerville, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell men's track and field team has been named River Hawk of the Week for the first time after a standout performance at the River Hawk Invitational on Saturday.
The sprinter zoomed to a personal-best time in the 500m at the home meet, finishing in 1:03.46 to earn first place honors and move up to third in the America East this season in the 500m. Later on, he competed as part of the men's 4x400m relay team, helping them to a first-place finish and 3:14.84 mark.
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
