Angel Montas Jr. (La Romana, D.R.) was named America East PLayer of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Montas Jr. averaged 27.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the River Hawks. The guard started the week with his second double-double of the year with 25 points and 10 rebounds in a victory against New Hampshire on February 19. He then matched his personal best with 30 points on 80% shooting from the field in a win against Binghamton on Feb. 21.Â
Through 28 games, he boasts nine, 20+ points games, including the last four in a row. He averages 14.7 points with a 53% field goal percentage so far.
Montas Jr. and the River Hawks are back in action on Thursday, Feb. 26 when they head to Vermont for a 7 p.m. tilt.Â
