LOWELL, Mass. – Senior
Dillan Bentley (Peoria, Ill.) of the UMass Lowell ice hockey team (7-12-0, 3-6-0 Hockey East) has been on fire as of late, earning himself Hockey East Player of the Week honors for his performance this past weekend at the 2026 Cactus Cup.
In game one of the tournament, the River Hawks picked up a 3-1 victory against #14 Minnesota State to advance to the championship game thanks to Bentley's three points on two goals and an assist. He scored the team's first goal early in the first period, then broke a 1-1 tie for the game-winning goal in the second. He also assisted the empty-netter at the end of the game to help secure the win. The next day against St. Cloud State, he scored again to make it a three-goal, four-point weekend.
The alternate captain now has five goals in the team's last three games and four multi-goal games this season. He leads the squad with 15 points on 10 goals and five assists. This is his second Hockey East Player of the Week award this season.
