LOWELL, Mass. – Sophomore Avery Pitts (Willington, Conn.) has been named America East Female Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite at BU this past Saturday, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. 

At the meet, Pitts won the women's high jump event, finishing first out 15 jumpers with a 1.70m mark. This was just short of her personal-best jump of 1.71m, which ranks first in the America East this season.

This award marks Pitts' second America East Female Field Athlete of the Week honor of the year and she was also named River Hawk of the Week.
