River Hawks Run Well at Hartford Invitational

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The UMass Lowell men's cross country team competed at the Hartford Invitational in West Hartford, Conn., on Saturday morning. 

"Good step forward today for quite a few people," said Head Coach Gary Gardner. "Tyler and Chris ran really smart moving up throughout the race and looked strong."

Running unattached, senior Timothy Brigham (Holden, Mass.) finished past the line in 10th place with a 16:26.6 mark. Sophomore Tyler Young (Marion, Mass.) followed behind, finishing in 14th place at a time of 16:38.8.

Freshman Christopher Guerin was not far back, earning a 16:42.9 mark for 17th place, while junior Pedro Mayol (Lincoln, R.I.) came next, clocking in at a time of 17:07.6 for 25th place.

Sophomore Sean Kerin (Walpole, Mass.) claimed 42nd place with a 17:44.1 mark, before freshman Josh Toth finished in 44th place at 17:49.0. Rounding out the River Hawks, sophomore Dylan Brenn (20:14.7) finished in 98th, respectively.

The team returns on Saturday, September 20, when they gear up for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
