LOWELL, Mass. – Director of Athletics Lynn Coutts has announced the promotions of Jon Boswell to Senior Associate AD for Venue Marketing & Fan Engagement and Christina Stone to Senior Associate AD for Finance & Business Operations.

Boswell, who has been a member of the River Hawks' staff since 2015, has been a catalyst for marketing and sales strategies that place UMass Lowell among the top attendance leaders in college hockey, including leading the Hockey East three times during his tenure. Alongside hockey, he also oversees basketball gameday operations in conjunction with OVG management staff and Aramark to ensure joint operations in working towards optimal fan experience at live events.

"Jon has been the driving force behind our fan engagement and branding success," commented Coutts. "His commitment to elevating the gameday atmosphere and attracting new fans has been unmatched. This promotion is a well-earned acknowledgment of his vision, execution and the tremendous impact he's had on our River Hawk community."

Alongside his role in leading a marketing team that has received 12 NACMA Awards during his time at UMass Lowell, Boswell also serves as the athletic department's sport administrator for baseball and is a member of numerous committees and organizations both on campus and within the community.

"UMass Lowell is a special place, a testament to having so many great supporters and teammates," said Boswell. "As another hockey season approaches, I look forward to getting to see so many familiar faces and meet new River Hawk supporters who help make River Hawk games the place to be in the Merrimack Valley and beyond as I take on this new role."

Since joining the River Hawk staff in 2000 after graduating from the university, Stone has taken on a plethora of duties focused on budget development and planning, implementing and overseeing departmental budgetary policies and procedures, reviewing revenues and expenses, multi-year planning and forecasting, and managing team travel policies and procedures.

"Christina has been a dedicated member of the UMass Lowell family for nearly 25 years," stated Coutts. "Her unwavering loyalty, especially through challenging times, has been both admirable and inspiring. She's a true team player who consistently works behind the scenes to support our coaches, staff and student-athletes."

Stone's responsibilities have continued to grow, as she also serves as the primary liaison for the athletic department to many university and UMass system offices, including budget, controller, procurement, human resources and payroll. Beyond her work internally, she is also responsible for the completion and submission of annual EADA and NCAA financial reports, amongst other specialized reports.

"I'd like to thank Lynn Coutts and the leadership team at UMass Lowell for providing me with this tremendous opportunity," said Stone. "I'm excited to continue collaborating with the amazing team we have here as we work to advance River Hawk athletics and provide our student-athletes with a first-rate experience. UMass Lowell has shaped my professional and personal growth, and I look forward to contributing back to this special institution in my new role."
