River Hawks Reveal 2025 Schedule

7/11/2025 3:19:00 PM

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Women's Soccer Head Coach Mira Novak has released his 2025 schedule. The River Hawks step onto the pitch for the first time on Thursday, August 14, when they open the 17-game campaign at Stony Brook.

"We're excited about our non-conference schedule," said Novak. "I think it provides a quality mix of games that will challenge us, and games that will target new looks for us. It's always the non-conference schedule that serves us well to prepare for the eight conference games that make or break our season."

Following the season opener, the River Hawks travel back north to Massachusetts to visit Merrimack (Aug. 17) before returning to Lowell for a six-game homestand. The River Hawks kick off play at Cushing Field with a matchup against Idaho (Aug. 21) prior to closing the month with contests versus Kansas State (Aug. 28) and Kennedy Cup rival Massachusetts (Aug. 31).

The homestand continues into the month of September, as the team hosts Central Connecticut State (Sept. 3) and reigning Patriot League champion, Boston University (Sept. 7). The home stretch then comes to a close against Stonehill (Sept. 11) before a quick road trip to New Haven (Sept. 14).

UMass Lowell ends the month of September by opening America East Conference play at Cushing Field against NJIT on Sept. 21 and traveling to Maryland to take on UMBC on Sept. 28.

"I feel the conference play will be extremely even and challenging this year," mentioned Novak. "So, we have a fairly young team that will need to grow through non-conference, and I think that's what we're looking to do. I'm grateful that we have a lot of home games, so I hope to see our fans and students in the stands, and cheering on our women's soccer team."

October is full of contests against conference foes, as the River Hawks prepare for a match up at New Hampshire (Oct. 2) before making their way back to Cushing Field to face off against Binghamton (Oct. 12). The defending America East champions come to town next when UMass Lowell welcomes Maine on Oct. 16. The River Hawks will visit Vermont on Oct. 19 before heading back to Lowell to play their last home game of the regular season versus UAlbany (Oct. 26).

Aiming to close out the regular season strong, the River Hawks will head to Rhode Island to match up against Bryant on Oct. 30. The America East playoffs will begin a few days with the quarterfinals on November 2. Following the semifinals on Nov. 6, the America East will declare a champion on Nov. 9. All playoff games will be held at the higher seed's home field and streamed on ESPN+.
