LOWELL, Mass. – Senior Garrett Murphy (Billerica, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team has been named to the 2025 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division I All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization on Friday afternoon.

Throughout his entire career, Murphy was a great representative of UMass Lowell both in the classroom and on the field.  This year, the grad student posted 3.825 GPA while earning his master's in finance and at the end of the season was named to the America East All-Academic team. On the field, he ranked second on the team in goals (19), assists (9), and points (28), while also netting the game winner against Mercyhurst. For his efforts, he was also named to the America East All-Conference Second Team and participated in the 2025 USILA Senior All-Star Game.

To be named to the NEILA Division I All-Academic Team, nominees must have a senior or graduate student standing with no eligibility remaining, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be an impact player for their team.
