LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell Athletics announced the departure of Women's Basketball Head Coach Denise King on Wednesday after four seasons leading the River Hawks.

King guided the team to three America East Playoff appearances and coached seven All-Conference selections. She spent three seasons as an assistant coach before being named the program's ninth head coach.

"I want to thank Coach King for her dedication to our River Hawk women's basketball program over the last seven years," said UMass Lowell Athletics Director Lynn Coutts. "She has made a lasting impact on many student-athletes, and I wish her the very best in her future endeavors."

A national search for her successor will begin immediately.
