LOWELL, Mass. – Graduate student goaltender
Henry Welsch (Lakeville, Minn.) has signed with the Adirondack Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, as announced by the organization on Thursday, March 20.
The goaltender concluded his fifth year with a career-high 11 wins and an 11-8-1 record in 20 appearances, collecting a 2.71 GAA and .895 save percentage.
He finished his productive UMass Lowell career with 76 games played and a 29-36-7 overall record, while totaling five career shutouts in addition to a 2.51 GAA and .903 save percentage. He was also a four-time Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week and one-time Goaltender of the Month for this past October.
He also excelled in the classroom in his time at UMass Lowell, becoming a three-time Hockey East All-Academic honoree while working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
