LOWELL, Mass. – After his stellar performance in Saturday's 7-3 victory against St. Lawrence at the Adirondack Winter Invitational in Lake Placid, freshman Dalyn Wakely (Port Hope, Ontario) of the UMass Lowell ice hockey team (6-8-0, 3-3-0 Hockey East) has been named River Hawk of the Week.

Wakely stood out in a big way on Saturday, collecting his first career hat trick to help lead the team to the win. He scored a goal in each period and tied the game up at three with his second period goal. He currently leads UMass Lowell with 12 points (5g, 7a) and was also named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for his efforts.

The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
