Three River Hawks Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

LOWELL, Mass. – The 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams have been announced and include three members of the UMass Lowell men's soccer team.

Graduate student Shunnosuke Nakajima (Yokohama, Japan), senior Oscar Perez (Sagunto, Spain), and junior Linus Musielak (Dortmund, Germany) all earned spots on the CSC Academic All-District Team, which, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

In his final season as a River Hawk, Nakajima started in 17 of the team's 18 games, leading the squad with 1396 minutes played and tying for first with three assists. Following his excellent performance in the America East Playoffs, he was also tabbed to the America East All-Championship Team following the conclusion of the tournament. In the classroom, he owns a 3.86 GPA and is currently pursuing his MBA in Business Administration – Finance.

Perez, a four-year starter for UMass Lowell, appeared in 14 games, making 12 starts. Although he served as a member of a strong defensive unit, he left his impact on the offensive end as well, scoring a career-high two goals, including scoring the opening goal in the team's America East Quarterfinals victory over UAlbany. Off the field, the senior is pursuing his degree in education, posting a 3.56 GPA.

A member of the America East All-Academic squad, Musielak left his mark in his first season as a River Hawk, totaling a team-best seven points off two goals and three assists in 12 starts, including scoring the game-winner in the season opener against Saint Peter's. In the classroom, the German native owns a 3.95 GPA while studying quantitative economics with a marketing minor.
