LOWELL, Mass. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team (1-1) returns home to take on the New Haven Chargers (0-3) on Monday, November 10 in its final contest before a five-game road trip.
A WIN WOULD
A win against the Chargers would mark UMass Lowell's sixth in the all-time series, and the first since the two teams have become Division I programs. A win would also improve the River Hawks to 2-0 at home this year.
LAST TIME OUT
Junior
Jared Frey totaled 12 points, as UMass Lowell faced a 110-47 setback against No. 4 Connecticut on Nov. 7 at the PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford. Frey went a perfect, 6-for-6 from the foul line. Junior
Xavier Spencer, who also went 6-for-6 on free throws, chipped in with 11 points, while adding four rebounds.
A WHOLE NEW LOOK
This season brings a new level of anticipation, as UMass Lowell features an entirely new look, with 12 of the 13 players having never suited up for UMass Lowell. Despite the challenge of the unknown, Head Coach
Pat Duquette is looking forward to seeing what his roster, which features eight transfers, two true freshmen and three redshirts can do.
INTO THE UNKNOWN
The River Hawks have been known for their high-percentage, high-scoring offense under Duquette, leading the America East in field goal percentage for the last three years. However, UMass Lowell joins at least 12 other teams in the nation this year in returning 0% of its scoring from a season ago.
STARTING STRONG
The win against Rivier on Nov. 3 marked the sixth straight year that the River Hawks have opened the season with a victory. It also gave the team its 12th consecutive win in its home opener.
HOME SWEET HOME
Costello Athletic Center has been very kind to the home team during the last three seasons, as the River Hawks are currently 42-5 in the building since the start of the 2022-23 campaign, including 1-0 in 2025-26.Â
