BOSTON, Mass. – After pacing the UMass Lowell men's basketball team in scoring this week, freshman
JJ Massaquoi (Prince George's County, Md.) has been tabbed America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Massaquoi averaged 18.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in a pair of games last week. He first totaled 18 points with a 6-for-6 effort from the foul line at Bradley on November 19 before dropping another 18, this time on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, at Saint Peter's on Nov. 22.
So far this season, the rookie has made a strong first impression, leading the River Hawks with 15.4 points per game and a 64.5% clip from the field.
