BOSTON – After playing a full 90 minutes in the team's first conference win of the season, sophomore Aamir Ketbache (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) of the UMass Lowell men's soccer team has been named the America East Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.

In Saturday's 1-0 win over Binghamton, Ketbache played a key role on the defensive end for the River Hawks. Not only did he anchor a defense that held the Bearcats scoreless, but he also helped prevent the opposition from recording a shot on goal, the first time UMass Lowell has achieved that feat this season. This marks the first weekly award of Ketbache's career.

Ketbache and the River Hawks are back in action this Saturday, October 11, when they visit the defending national champion Vermont Catamounts. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Virtue Field in Burlington, Vt.
