BOSTON, Mass. - UMass Lowell field hockey freshman Rena Pistilli (Lambaré, Paraguay) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
 
The back played an important role in a thrilling, 3-2 win at league foe Maine on Friday, October 24. She first registered an important defensive save in the 52nd minute to keep the game tied 2-2. Less than six minutes later, she then assisted on what would become the game-winning goal to help her squad to clinch a home playoff game.

This marks her second Rookie of the Week nod this season. She had started all 15 games she has appeared in is is tied for first on the team with six assists so far this season. She also adds four goals and totals 14 points.

Pistilli and the River Hawks are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 30 when they host UAlbany in the regular-season finale.
