BOSTON, Mass. – After showcasing her offensive ability this past week, freshman Nora Belin (Stockholm, Sweden) was selected as the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Belin was a key piece to the offense in two matches, recording two goals for four points, including the game-winning goal Sunday afternoon, in a 1-0-1 week for the River Hawks. The forward saw action in 70 minutes versus Maine on Thursday night, adding the first goal of the game for the River Hawks, which ultimately ended in a 2-2 draw. On Sunday, Belin netted the game-winning goal in the 89th minute to earn her squad a 1-0 win over the Catamounts. That goal was Belin's second game-winner and her fifth overall of the season. This marks the second time this season she also scored a goal in back-to-back games.
With two weeks left in the season, Belin has appeared in 12 games for UMass Lowell, making six starts, while also logging 507 minutes played with five goals for 10 points.
