BOSTON, Mass. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the 2025-26 America East Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
The River Hawks turned in their third consecutive winning season in 2024-25. This year's squad features 10 newcomers, including eight veteran transfers. In the vote among the league's head coaches, UMass Lowell received 39 points and one first-place vote in this year's poll. This marks the team's fourth straight top-four ranking.
Vermont earned seven first place votes and had 63 total points to take the top spot in the poll. Last season's #AEHoops runner-up Maine earned the one remaining first place vote and had 47 points total to tie for second with UAlbany, who also garnered 47 points.
Behind UMass Lowell, Binghamton was picked fifth with 37 points and defending champion Bryant placed sixth with 35 points. UMBC was close behind in seventh with 31 points, while NJIT (13 points) and New Hampshire (12 points) rounded out the voting.
The River Hawks' 2025-26 campaign begins on Monday, November 3 when they host Rivier at the Kennedy Family Athletic Complex, formerly Costello Athletic Center, at 7 p.m.
