LOWELL, Mass. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team (13-6, 2-2 AE) is set to host a pair of home conference games this week beginning against Maine (12-8, 4-1 AE) on Thursday, January 23 at 6 p.m. The squad then welcomes New Hampshire (4-16, 2-3 AE) to Costello Athletic Center on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.
A WIN WOULD
A win would move the River Hawks to 14-6 on the season and move the team to 3-2 in conference play. It would also improve the team's record to 12-1 at home this year.

Max Brooks (Waldorf, Md.) tallied 12 points and eight rebounds, as the UMass Lowell River Hawks (13-6, 2-2 AE) fell to the Bryant Bulldogs (10-9, 4-0 AE) on Jan. 18, 85-62. Brooks was one of four River Hawks to reach double-digit scoring. Fifth year

LEADING THE FLOCK
Four River Hawks are averaging double-digits, as
Max Brooks leads the charge with 14.8 points per game alongside a team-high 8.1 rebounds and 51 blocks. Behind him,
Quinton Mincey adds 14.5 points per game, while
Martin Somerville boasts 13.8 points in his first season, including a team-high 44 three-pointers and 25 steals.
Yuri Covington rounds things out with 11.3 points per game.
HOME SWEET HOME
Costello Athletic Center has been very kind to the home team during the last three seasons, as the River Hawks are currently 38-2 in the building since the start of the 2022-23 campaign, including 11-1 in 2024-25.
OUTLASTING THE COMPETITION
A resilient group, the River Hawks have found ways to pull ahead when they needed to in several, back-and-forth games this year, most recently earning the win at UAlbany despite season highs of 11 stalemates and 14 lead changes. The team is now 5-2 on the year in games with at least eight lead changes.
NATIONAL NEWS
UMass Lowell is currently ranked in the top 25 in the nation in six team categories, including free throws made (9th) and defensive rebounds per game (13th).
SHARP SHOOTERS
UMass Lowell is first in the league and 20th in the country for field goal percentage, shooting 49.1% from the floor. For the second year in a row,
Max Brooks is leading the way in efficiency for the squad and is ranked third in the country with a 70.1% clip on field goals. He is also 13th nationally among active NCAA career leaders (63.5%). The big man went a perfect, 12-for-12 on field goals against Dartmouth, matching the NCAA record this season and marking the best performance by any player nationwide since the 2021-22 season.
GOING UP AND STAYING UP
The team plays well when they get out in front, owning a 7-1 record when leading at halftime so far this year.
COMEBACK KIDS
The River Hawks have shown their composure and toughness this season, trailing or being tied in the second half before pulling out the victory in seven games so far this year, most recently at UAlbany.
HELPING HANDS
The River Hawks' passing and connectedness has been on full display this year, as the team has logged six games with over 20 assists so far. The team is currently second in the America East with 15.4 assists per game.
SCORING POWER
With an average of 81.3 points per game through 19 games, the River Hawks currently sit third in the America East in scoring offense and 43rd in the nation.
