LOWELL, Mass. – After breaking a school record on Saturday at the Battle in Beantown, sophomore Jayani Santos (Tewksbury, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell women's track and field team has been named River Hawk of the Week. 

The sprinter competed in the 300m dash on Saturday, zooming to a fifth-place finish with a record-breaking time of 39.26. This keeps her great start ot the season going, as she is coming off a productive performance at the Suffolk Invite on January 11, where she won the 400m dash and was named America East Female Track Athlete of the Week.

She now sets her sights on this weekend's River Hawk Invitational, which UMass Lowell will be hosting at the TRACK at new balance on Friday, January 24 nd Saturday, January 25.
