Looking at UMass Lowell
The River Hawks fought a tough battle versus the Warriors of Merrimack, coming up short on Aug. 15 in their first game of the season. UMass Lowell was ranked fourth in the America East Preseason Poll and is looking to make a statement in and out of conference play.

Scouting the Terriers
The Terriers hold a 0-1-1 record so far with a loss to Northwestern, a draw against Northeastern and six non-conference games to go, including the matchup against the River Hawks. In its home opener, BU lost to Northwestern, 3-2, on Aug. 15 and forced a 1-1 stalemate with Northeastern on Aug. 18. Junior Giulianna Gianino currently leads the squad with six points on three goals. Senior Celia Braun has seen both starts in goal, making eight saves.

Boston University Matchup History
UMass Lowell is 0-1-1 against BU, only dating back to the 2021 season. In the last meeting of the programs, the River Hawks fell, 2-1, in 2022.

Scouting the Crusaders
The Crusaders have collected two losses this season to New Hampshire and Fairfield, giving them a 0-2-0 record. Their three goals have come from three different goal scorers in freshman Nadia Cassamajor, freshman Ava Graham and sophomore Charlotte Hanchar. Senior Julia Walsh earned the start as goalkeeper against Fairfield in the first game of the season, making six saves to total a .750 save percentage. Senior Olivia Dubin received the start in net versus New Hampshire, making three saves with a .500 save percentage.

Holy Cross Matchup History

Instant Impact
Graduate student Calliste Brookshire (Kingston, Mass.) continues to lead the River Hawk program with four shots versus Merrimack. Junior transfer Hilary Jaen (Las Margaritas, Panama) had a strong showing in the backfield during her first career game at UMass Lowell. She launched two shots, including a great opportunity just barely missing left of the post. Senior Hope Santaniello (Agawam, Mass.), junior Kirti Craig (Spotswood, N.J.), and freshman Gaby Eckroth (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) also contributed during the Merrimack contest with two shots apiece. Freshman Nuala Rodgers (Dedham, Mass.) saw 70 minutes in her collegiate debut with one shot on target.

Between the Sticks
In the River Hawks' home opener, graduate student Taylor Burgess (Mendon, Mass.) made six saves in net. The veteran has had an excellent career so far with 180 saves and counting for a .763 save percentage and a 1.42 goals-against average.
