LOWELL, Mass. – After a tough battle against Siena last week, the UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team (0-3) will once again hit the road to take on the LIU Sharks (2-1) on Saturday, March 2. Opening faceoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium

Khairi Sears (Columbus, Ohio) recorded a goal and three assists for a four-point day, as the UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team fell to the Siena Saints 13-8, last Friday afternoon. Sears, who led the team in assists and points, also added a caused turnover. Behind him, freshman

LEADING THE FLOCK
Nine River Hawks find themselves in the points column after three games, with Sears leading the way with six assists and nine points. Right behind him, Donnelly totals five points (3g, 2a), while Lawhorn, Dean, and Soi all total four points. Murphy and freshman
Colby Frigon (Providence, R.I.) round out multi-goal scorers with three each. Bird, who leads the team with 43 faceoff victories, also posts a team-leading 23 ground balls. In net, Pav has made 34 saves in 180 minutes of action. Â
AMERICA EAST HONORS
Following their impressive performances in the season opener against Holy Cross on February 10, Bird was named the America East Faceoff Specialist of the Week, while Frigon took home America East Rookie of the Week honors. Two weeks later, Donnelly was tabbed the America East Rookie of the Week after finding the back of the net twice and adding an assist against Siena.

SCOUTING LIU
The Sharks enter Saturday's match on a two-game win streak, most recently taking down Lindenwood, 10-7, last Saturday. The LIU offense is led by attack Sean Bool, who tallies 10 points off four goals and six assists, and midfielder Tom von Bargen who has scored a team-high seven goals for nine points. On defense, Nicholas Davide leads his team with eight caused turnovers and adds six ground balls, while faceoff specialist Shaun Hill has won 31 of 56 faceoffs for a .554 win percentage. Time in net has been split by Jasper Simon and Sean Richard, with Simon making two starts in three games, totaling 12 saves in 120 minutes of action.
