LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks head to Binghamton after falling in the lone game last week, a 62-43 defeat to Bryant. UMass Lowell has lost the last two games and four of the last five and will look to right the ship as the final stretch of the regular season begins.
Sydney Watkins and
Sydney Coombs were absent last game, both hopeful to return to the floor this week.
Rayne Durant led the team with 10 points against Bryant with six rebounds, tying fellow rookie
Maddie Rice for the team high. UMass Lowell fell to Binghamton earlier this season in Lowell and will look for a big road win to even the season series.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Binghamton has won its last two games and four of the last six. The Bearcats started conference play 0-4 before winning four the next five to put them in the playoff mix. Last week, Binghamton won on the road at UMBC and at home against NJIT and sit 7-7 at home this season. Preseason All-Conference selection Denai Bowman leads the team averaging 11.0 points to go with 4.2 rebounds per game. The Bearcats are third in the league in team FG percentage and have the second best 3FG defense in conference. They shoot 71% from the charity stripe, second in the league behind Maine.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
UAlbany remains atop the America East standings with an 11-1 record. The Great Danes are on a four-game win streak and will visit Vermont on Thursday night before hosting UMass Lowell. UAlbany's only loss this season came against Vermont on February 1. Earlier this season, the Great Danes defeated the River Hawks on the road to snap a three-game win streak for UMass Lowell. UAlbany has a balanced offense led by Kayla Cooper, who averages 16.1 points per game. They have the second best offense and best defense in the league as well as the best three-point shooting percentage.
A WIN WOULD
A win would be fifth conference win for the River Hawks and split the season series with the Bearcats. A win would also snap a two-game losing skid for UMass Lowell.
LEADING THE FLOCK
Mili Carrera leads the squad averaging 9.9 points per game while
Sydney Watkins leads the rebounding unit with 5.6 per game.
Rayne Durant is the team's leading blocker with 27 on the season.
Mili Carrera is shooting 36% from three to lead the team with 34 made 3FGs. Worley leads the team at the free throw line shooting 85% going 22-26. Watkins leads the team with 65 steals and 68 assists.
