River Hawks Get Ready to Face Le Moyne

LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's basketball team (0-8) will continue its road swing, as the squad will travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on Le Moyne (0-8) on Saturday, December 7 with a scheduled tipoff for 12 p.m. at Ted Grant Court.

Last Time Out for the River Hawks 
The River Hawks most recently played San Jose State in the Puerto Rico Clasico, losing by one point, 68-67. UMass Lowell led the Spartans until 6:01 in the fourth quarter and could not regain their lead.  

Sophomore Abbey Lindsey (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored a season high of 20 points, while also adding four steals, two rebounds and two assists. Lindsey went 6-10 from the field, 2-3 from the arc and 6-8 from the free throw line. Sophomore Maddie Rice (Charlottesville, Va.) and senior Alex Gitchenko (Ashdod, Israel) followed with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Rice also added three rebounds and two assists, with Gitchenko notching six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Redshirt-senior Sydney Watkins (Indianapolis, Ind.) contributed with nine rebounds, eight points, four assists and one steal.  

The River Hawks were able to outshoot their opponent from the field (47.2 % to 44.9%) and the three-point line (50.0% to 36.4%).  

Scouting the Dolphins 
Le Moyne lost, 60-55, to Boston University on Thursday evening.  

Haedyn Roberts recorded 23 points for the Dolphins, sinking five three-pointers, while also producing two rebounds and two steals. Megan Bodziony was next with eight points, eight rebounds, and one assist on the night. 

Le Moyne outshot Boston University from the arc (42.1% to 24.0%) and the foul line (90.0% to 66.7%).  

Le Moyne Matchup History 
The River Hawks and the Dolphins have met a total of four times, with UMass Lowell having one win against Le Moyne.  

Leading UMass Lowell 
With her last showing, Lindsey currently leads the River Hawks, averaging 10.3 points per game with 62 points on the season. Sophomore Rayne Durant (New Haven, Conn.)  is right behind, averaging 10.0 points per game, with a total of 80 points this season.  

Durant would average 5.9 rebounds per game to rank at the top of the stat sheet for UMass Lowell.  

Watkins rounds out the final three categories, guiding the River Hawks with 24 assists, 18 steals and four blocks.

The River Hawks will face Iona at home on Tuesday, December 10 with a tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. at Costello Athletic Center.
