12/30/2024 3:12:00 PM

LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Softball Head Coach Jen Starek announced her program's complete schedule for 2025 on Friday. The team opens the new season on Friday, Feb. 7 against Weber State.

"We are excited to get out there and play," said Head Coach Jen Starek. "We are hoping the early part of the schedule prepares us for conference play."

The River Hawks open the season in San Antonio, Texas, playing five games at the UTSA Invitational. In addition to Weber State, the team also takes on Southern Illinois – Edwardsville, and host, Texas – San Antonio, during the three-day event.

Up next, the River Hawks will travel to Buies Creek, North Carolina to compete in four games at the Camel Invitational on Feb. 14-16. Cambell will host UMass Lowell, as well as Eastern Kentucky, Lafayette, and Bryant in that tournament.

UMass Lowell continues its tournament schedule in Norfolk, Va. at the Spartan/Pirate Challenge on Feb. 28-March 2, with a set of five contests consisting of two doubleheaders against Norfolk State and Hampton, and finishing up with a single game against Norfolk State.

The River Hawks wrap up their southern series with the Cathi Maynard Invitational on March 7-9, in Clarksville, Tenn. as UMass Lowell, Bucknell, Appalachian State, and the host, Austin Peay will each participate in five games.

UMass Lowell will travel back to New England to play Massachusetts for the Kennedy Cup on March 19 at River View Field.

March calls for the start of America East play, as the River Hawks will travel to Baltimore, Md. to face UMBC in a three-game set on Mar. 22-23. Next, UMass Lowell will play a non-conference doubleheader with Merrimack at their place on Mar. 27, followed by a three-game series versus Maine on Mar. 29-30 at home.

In April, the River Hawks will face six opponents set to play 16 total games versus UAlbany (Apr. 5-6), Holy Cross (Apr. 8), Bryant (Apr. 12-13), Binghamton (Apr. 18-19), Stonehill (Apr. 23), and Maine (Apr. 26-27). UMass Lowell's home contests in April are against Binghamton and Stonehill.

The River Hawks will wrap up their America East schedule just as they started it, facing UMBC, but this time at home with a three-game set, May 2-3.

The America East Conference Championship will be hosted by Binghamton, May 7-10.
