12/26/2024 11:39:00 AM

LOWELL, Mass. — UMass Lowell Baseball Head Coach Nick Barese has revealed his team's 2025 schedule, which includes 54 games. The River Hawks will open their season with a 17-game road swing, first beginning on February 14 versus Mercyhurst at the 2025 Swig and Swine College Baseball Classic.

"We are looking forward to a competitive and challenging schedule," commented Coach Barese.  "We're excited to play some really talented teams prior to conference play, knowing that will prepare us for what's always a strong America East schedule."

The 2025 Swig and Swine College Baseball Classic consists of three days of games for UMass Lowell. The team will match up against Ball State on Feb. 15 and close out the weekend on Feb. 16 versus Towson.

A three-game weekend series at Appalachian State (Feb.21- Feb.23) follows before the month finishes with three more games played at South Carolina Upstate (Feb. 28-Mar. 2).

The River Hawks stay in warmer climates to finish the early road swing, competing at the 2025 Central Virginia Challenge on March 7-9. The team first takes Lafayette and Richmond on day one of the challenge before a rematch against the Spiders on March 8 and one more against Lafayette on March 9.

UMass Lowell then travels to Longwood on March 12 prior to ending the long road trip with its first conference matchup of the season against UMBC (Mar. 14-Mar. 16).

The squad returns to LeLacheur Park for its first home game of the 2025 season versus Holy Cross on March 19. The River Hawks host Le Moyne that same week from March 21-23. Back on the road, the River Hawks will travel for a midweek game against Merrimack on March 25. They will then take on their first conference opponent at home versus Bryant (Mar. 28- Mar. 30).

Starting the month of April with six road games in eight days, the River Hawks head to Dartmouth (Apr. 1) and Stonehill (Apr. 2). A weekend series at Maine (Apr. 4- Apr. 6) and the first matchup against Boston College on April 8 ends the stretch before returning home.

Home games against UMBC (Apr. 11-Apr. 13) and Merrimack (Apr.15) will follow before traveling to Bryant for a game on April 18 and a doubleheader on April 19. UMass Lowell returns to Boston College on April 22, leading to a home stretch of four games in five days. The River Hawks will host Binghamton for a three-game series (Apr. 25-Apr. 27) and end the month versus Quinnipiac on April 29.

May starts off with a weekend series at home versus America East mate, UAlbany, on May 2-4. The one and only matchup of the season against Kennedy Cup foe, UMass Amherst, happens on May 6 at LeLacheur. One road game against Northeastern will take place on May 7.

On May 10-11, UMass Lowell will host Boston College for their final two matchups of the season. Ending the season on a road trip, the River Hawks will travel to Rhode Island for a weekday game on May 13, finishing the season at NJIT (May 16-18).

The America East Championship is set for May 21-24 in Orono, Maine.
